Grand & Toy, a trusted B2B office solutions partner to thousands of Canadian small businesses, came to us wanting a sustainability report that highlighted their corporate achievements and culture across three platforms: People, Prosperity and Planet. They also wanted to showcase their social initiatives and supplier diversity, and position Grand & Toy as a strategic partner to help small business customers meet their own sustainability goals. The challenge: previous editions had run 40-plus pages. This one needed to come in at eight, without losing substance, inspiration, or clarity.
Concise, constructive writing and high-impact design had to work in tight collaboration. Short, snappy, bite-sized information, supported by core stats, callouts, and custom infographics, told the visual story efficiently. The digital version included live links that guided customers to specific pages on the Grand & Toy site, adding an interactive dimension to the experience. From a design standpoint, the team used colours, typestyles, and size differentials to create a dynamic, on-brand piece. The infinity symbol became a recurring visual motif throughout the report, its swoops and curves tying content together and signalling progress. Every design decision reinforced the report's underlying theme: inspiring and uplifting.
The finished report delivered on every brief requirement, brand-aligned, impactful, and tightly focused on Grand & Toy's UVP and how it benefits their customers. Writing and design worked in genuine tandem to produce something that functioned as a compelling brand statement rather than a compliance document. For small business customers evaluating sustainability partners, a focused and credible report communicates more than achievements, it signals that Grand & Toy can be trusted as a forward-thinking strategic partner, not just a supplier. The engagement continued as a direct result of the work, with Grand & Toy returning for ongoing content and creative support.
